Shimano vs Daiwa Reel Sizes: Official JDM Measurements

A 2500 or 4000 in one maker's name is not a shared physical size standard. The Japanese tables give different weights and capacities, and Daiwa's spool diameter is often not listed.

Do the same Shimano and Daiwa size numbers measure the same reel?

These are ranges across the 310 spinning sizes in our data. A PE gō range and metre range are independent extremes across listed line-capacity pairs, not a new combined rating. Shimano C and Daiwa LT sizes remain in their maker's own naming system.

Daiwa spool diameter is Not confirmed where its Japanese table has no diameter. This chart does not infer it from model numbers. Check the exact reel and line rating before treating two sizes as alternatives.
