Is the US Stella the same reel as the Japanese Stella?
The name is shared, but the size codes line up only for C3000XG (STLC3000XGFK), 4000XG (STL4000XGFK) and C5000XG (STLC5000XGFK). Numerical comparison depends on which US values the maker publishes.

Is the Stella cheaper in Japan or in the US?
Shimano Japan lists the Stella at ¥91,400–¥98,300 before consumption tax (checked 2026-10-11). Shimano North America lists the STELLA FK at $864.99–$894.99 (MSRP) (checked 2026-10-11). The answer depends on the exchange rate; we do not convert currencies. The table below shows the yen-per-dollar break-even rate for pairs with both prices.

STL1000FK and STL2500HGFK: Shimano North America lists these codes, but Shimano Japan's table has no size with the same code.
