Not with the same size code. The closest US listing is METMGL150XGB, which we do not treat as the same reel. The official tables differ in weight (175 g (≈ 6.2 oz) in Japan, 6.5 oz in the US).
The US model is named METANIUM MGL B (150XG/151XG); Shimano Japan lists METANIUM XG RIGHT/LEFT. Gear ratios match, but the names and codes differ. From the two official tables: gear ratio matches (8.1:1 in Japan, 8.1:1 in the US); weight 175 g (≈ 6.2 oz) in Japan vs 6.5 oz in the US; retrieve 86 cm (≈ 33.9 in) vs 34 in. Left-hand US SKU: METMGL151XGB.

Is the JDM Metanium XG cheaper than the US METMGL150XGB?
It depends on the exchange rate, so we cannot give a yes or no. The official figures are ¥48,200 in Japan (before consumption tax) and $489.99 in the US (US price, Shimano North America online store). We do not convert currencies. Dividing one by the other, the Japanese list price is the lower number when one US dollar buys more than ¥98.4. METMGL150XGB is not the same size code as the Japanese XG, so this is not a like-for-like price.
The Japanese figure excludes Japan's consumption tax (the page says so); the US page shows its price without mentioning tax. Shipping, import duties and shop prices are not included.
