Is the US Stradic the same reel as the Japanese Stradic?
The name is shared, but the size codes line up only for C3000XG (STC3000XGFM), 4000XG (ST4000XGFM) and C5000XG (STC5000XGFM). Numerical comparison depends on which US values the maker publishes.

Is the Stradic cheaper in Japan or in the US?
Shimano Japan lists the Stradic at ¥27,700–¥31,000 before consumption tax (checked 2026-10-11). Shimano North America lists the STRADIC FM at $234.99–$264.99 (MSRP) (checked 2026-10-11). The answer depends on the exchange rate; we do not convert currencies. The table below shows the yen-per-dollar break-even rate for pairs with both prices.
