Is the JDM Antares 100HG cheaper than the US ANT100HGB?
It depends on the exchange rate. The official list prices are ¥68,500 for the Japanese 100HG (before consumption tax) and $599.99 for the US ANT100HGB (US price, Shimano North America online store). We do not convert currencies. Dividing one by the other, the Japanese list price is the lower number when one US dollar buys more than ¥114.2.

The Japanese figure excludes Japan's consumption tax (the page says so); the US page shows its price without mentioning tax. Shipping, import duties and shop prices are not included. Japan list prices are the makers' base prices before consumption tax (Shimano "本体価格", marked 税別; Daiwa "メーカー希望本体価格", marked 税抜). US prices are Shimano North America and Daiwa USA MSRP, or for Shimano baitcasting reels the price on Shimano North America's official online store. Line capacity is not compared value by value: Japan rates PE line in gō (号) × metres, while the US table uses lb test × yards for a named braid, and the two cannot be converted exactly.
