Is the JDM Antares 100XG cheaper than the US ANT100XGB?
It depends on the exchange rate. The official list prices are ¥68,500 for the Japanese 100XG (before consumption tax) and $599.99 for the US ANT100XGB (US price, Shimano North America online store). We do not convert currencies. Dividing one by the other, the Japanese list price is the lower number when one US dollar buys more than ¥114.2.
- Japan: Shimano Japan's "本体価格" (base price; the page marks it 税別, before consumption tax), Shimano Japan page, checked 2026-10-11.
- US: the price on Shimano North America's official online store, fishshop.shimano.com, which does not call it MSRP, Shimano US page, checked 2026-10-11.
The Japanese figure excludes Japan's consumption tax (the page says so); the US page shows its price without mentioning tax. Shipping, import duties and shop prices are not included. Japan list prices are the makers' base prices before consumption tax (Shimano "本体価格", marked 税別; Daiwa "メーカー希望本体価格", marked 税抜). US prices are Shimano North America and Daiwa USA MSRP, or for Shimano baitcasting reels the price on Shimano North America's official online store. Source dates are shown with each record (2026-10-11 or 2026-10-13). We do not convert currencies or add tax. Prices can change; check the current price on the official page. Shop prices and stock are not shown. About prices

Do the numbers match?
We convert the Japanese figures and compare them with the US table. Small gaps within rounding (0.15 oz, 1 lb, 0.6 in) count as a match.
| Item | JDM 100XG | USDM ANT100XGB | Result |
|---|---|---|---|
| Gear ratio | 7.8:1 | 7.8:1 | Matches after unit conversion |
| Weight | 215 g (≈ 7.6 oz) | 7.6 oz | Matches after unit conversion |
| Max drag | 5 kg (≈ 11.0 lb) | Not confirmed | Cannot compare (value not published) |
| Retrieve per crank | 91 cm (≈ 35.8 in) | 36 in | Matches after unit conversion |
Line capacity is not compared value by value: Japan rates PE line in gō (号) × metres, while the US table uses lb test × yards for a named braid, and the two cannot be converted exactly.
What only the Japanese listing gives you
- Product code and JAN: 047762 (100XG RIGHT) / 047779 (101XG LEFT) / 4969363047762 (100XG RIGHT) / 4969363047779 (101XG LEFT). Use these to match a Japanese retailer's listing and to order parts.
- Spool: 37 mm dia. / 21 mm width.
Officially listed compatibility applies to the Japanese reel as listed in Japan. We have not found a statement from Shimano that the US version takes the same parts, so we do not say it does.
